One of three tourist-class Palenque hotels, the Misión is a motel-style property of recent construction. 160 large rooms are decorated with bold indigo blues and oranges, and have terraces, color TV and mini-bar. Palenque's newest four star property, the Plaza offers 96 standard rooms and two master suites. Rooms are housed in a U-shaped three-story modern colonial style building. Figure-eight shaped pool and nicely landscaped grounds. Rooms have tiled floors, rattan furnishings, cable TV, combination baths and small balconies. Centrally located near the zócalo, this charming inn is housed in a restored colonial mansion. Stunning

Housed in the city's oldest colonial-era building (the Casa Diego Mazariegos), the Santa Clara is on the city's main square. Opened in 1994, the Camino Real is a strikingly modern five-story hilltop building with reflective glass exterior. 210 rooms are done in contemporary decor with full amenities, mini-bar, cable TV, and combination baths.
